WEBSITES & CUSTOM APPS
Website development for NGOs and trusts in Lucknow
An NGO or trust website has to earn trust from people who will never visit the office.
It must show who runs the organisation and how it is registered, what each programme does — with photographs and figures you supply — where the annual reports and audited accounts are, and how to donate or volunteer. We custom-code these sites, in Hindi and English where needed, and put them live 8–10 days after all your details arrive. The quote comes on WhatsApp.
Non-profit offices in Lucknow are as likely to be in a house or a community hall as in an office block: Aliganj and Jankipuram near our studio, Indira Nagar, the old-city trusts of Chowk, company foundations in Gomti Nagar. This page covers the site a society, trust, foundation or service club needs, and the small apps behind its receipts and camps.
What a non-profit website has to prove
A company site persuades people to buy. A non-profit's site asks for money or time on behalf of work the reader may never see. A CSR team shortlisting partners, a donor who heard about a health camp, a student looking for weekend volunteering, an alumnus asked to support a scholarship — each opens the site to check that the organisation is real, registered and doing what it says.
So the site leads with facts that can be verified: registration and its type, the board, programmes with dated figures, reports and accounts, and a clear way to give. Warm adjectives and stock photographs work against you.
The same holds for a Rotary or Lions club, which needs projects, meetings and the current year's office-bearers; an alumni association, which needs member registration, reunions and a scholarship fund page; and a religious trust, which needs timings, festival dates and seva options, often with Hindi as the main language.
Websites are a newer service line of the studio that prints donor diaries, programme calendars and volunteer T-shirts. Five to six demo sites can be sent on WhatsApp; every site is hand-coded and light enough to open on a volunteer's phone at a camp.
Pages an NGO or trust website needs
Six pages carry most non-profit sites. The quote depends on the number of programmes, years of reports, online payment and Hindi pages.
| Page | What it must do | Why it matters for a non-profit |
|---|---|---|
| About and registration | Year of founding, a short origin story, registration type — society, trust or Section 8 company — with number and place of registration, as you supply them | The first thing a CSR team checks; missing registration details end the conversation |
| Programmes | One page per programme — learning centres, health camps, plantation, livelihood groups, animal care — with your photographs, figures and the areas served | People give to a programme, not a mission statement; dated figures are what they repeat to others |
| Reports and accounts | Annual reports, audited accounts, newsletters and photo reports as downloads, year by year | Answers due-diligence requests from grant-makers without a round of emails |
| Donate | UPI QR and ID, bank details, purpose options, and 80G, 12A or FCRA lines only where held, with a receipt request form | Giving should take a minute on a phone; a wrong exemption line causes trouble for donor and organisation alike |
| Volunteer | Sign-up with name, age group, locality, skills and free days, beside the list of coming drives and camps | Turns a moment of interest into a list your coordinator can call before the next camp |
| Governance, events, news, gallery | Board or trustee list, documents you choose to publish, an events calendar, news and a photo gallery by programme | Shows who is accountable and that the work is current; every social post gets a page to link to |
Schools and colleges run by an educational trust usually need an admissions-led site of their own — see websites for schools and colleges. A trust hospital or dispensary belongs on the hospitals and clinics page.
Features NGOs and trusts ask for
On a non-profit site, the working parts matter more than decoration.
- A donate page built for Indian donors
- UPI QR and UPI ID first, then bank details, with purposes such as the general fund, a named programme or a scholarship. Card payment can be added later, through an account in the organisation's own name.
- Exemption lines, exactly as certified
- 80G and 12A details, and the FCRA number, appear only where the organisation holds them, worded as on the certificate. Without FCRA registration, the page says plainly that foreign contributions cannot be accepted.
- Receipt request form
- Donor name, PAN, address, amount, date and transaction reference go to the person who issues receipts, so the details the accountant needs at year end are collected when the gift is made.
- Volunteer sign-up and camp list
- A form that asks what your coordinator asks on the phone, beside the drives and camps volunteers can choose from.
- Figures that stay dated
- Every figure — students taught, camps held, trees planted — carries the year and place you supply, so anyone quoting it later quotes it correctly.
- Consent-aware gallery
- Galleries by programme and event; faces of beneficiaries, and above all of children, appear only where consent is recorded, with captions giving place and date, never personal details.
What to send us for an NGO or trust website
Much of this is in your last annual report. The 8–10 days are counted from the day the set is complete.
- Logo, full registered name, and the registration type, number and date.
- 80G, 12A, FCRA, CSR-1 or NGO Darpan details only if held, copied from the certificates with validity dates.
- Board or trustee names and roles, with permission to publish them.
- Programme notes: what each does, where, since when, and the figures to show, with the year they relate to.
- Field photographs, with recorded consent for any identifiable beneficiary — from a guardian for children.
- Annual reports, audited accounts and newsletters as PDFs, for the years you want online.
- Bank details, UPI ID and QR, and the name of the person who issues receipts.
- Volunteer form questions, coming events, office address, map pin and phone numbers.
- Hindi text for the pages local donors and field partners read, or a request for a quote to prepare it.
Where an app helps an NGO or trust
Behind the website, most non-profits keep records in registers, Excel sheets and the secretary's phone. Three apps help most.
Donor and receipt register. Each donation is entered once — donor, PAN, amount, mode, purpose, date — and a numbered receipt follows from that entry, with a year-end list for the accountant. Repeat donors are recognised and thanked the same day.
Volunteer attendance for camps. The camp is created, volunteers are ticked in on arrival, and hours add up across the year for certificates and recognition.
Beneficiary tracking. For programmes that follow people over time — learners at a centre, patients in a screening drive, members of a livelihood group — a private record of each person's progress, visible only to the staff who need it, with summaries for the annual report.
We map the screens first and walk your coordinator through them. Once all feedback on that plan is in, the app is ready in 15–20 days, tested with your real registers, and opens in any phone browser or as a mobile app for field staff. More on custom app development in Lucknow.
How a non-profit website comes together
Written approvals at each stage, as on how we work.
First conversation
What the organisation does, whom the site must convince — donors, CSR partners, volunteers, the community — and the pages and languages needed. Ask for the demo links here.
Quote and confirmation
The quote is sent on WhatsApp. A 50% advance confirms the work and the balance is paid at launch; the GST invoice is made out to the organisation.
Material gathered
Registration details, programme notes, photographs, reports and donation details reach us; the 8–10 day period starts once nothing on the checklist is outstanding.
Home and donate pages first
The two pages that matter most, designed in your colours on a private link, with one round of changes before the rest is built.
Remaining pages, two rounds of corrections
Programmes, reports library, volunteer form, events, governance, gallery and the Hindi version if ordered. A trustee or the secretary reviews; two rounds of corrections are included.
Going live
Launch with HTTPS on a domain held in the organisation's name — not a volunteer's — with Search Console and the Business Profile connected, and short notes on posting news and events.
How donors and volunteers find non-profits in Lucknow
Few people search for an NGO by name before they have heard of it. They search the cause and the city: "NGO for education Lucknow", "blood donation camp Lucknow", "volunteer opportunities Lucknow", or in Hindi, "लखनऊ में NGO", "गरीब बच्चों की शिक्षा संस्था". CSR teams add "Uttar Pradesh" and then head straight for the reports page.
So each programme page is named for its cause and the area it serves, events carry dates and places, address and registration sit in structured data, and the Hindi version is indexed separately. A Business Profile for the office, linked to the site, also catches "near me" searches from people who want to drop off clothes, books or food.
Our delivery runs already reach Aliganj, Indira Nagar, Chowk and Gomti Nagar from Vikas Nagar, so a meeting at your office, or at a camp, can be fixed.
Donor diaries, receipt books and the website from one studio
The donor who receives your New Year diary or programme calendar is the person who will open your website before giving again. When both come from one studio, the field photographs, the year's figures and the logo are prepared once and used on paper and screen alike. Numbered donation receipt books can carry the web address and UPI QR, letterheads from our stationery range can carry the site too, and volunteer T-shirts for the next drive can point to the sign-up page.
Questions NGOs and trusts ask about a website
We do not hold 80G or FCRA. Can we still take donations online?
Yes, from Indian donors. The donate page shows your UPI and bank details and names only the registrations you actually hold. Without FCRA registration it should say clearly that foreign contributions cannot be accepted.
Can donors pay by card or net banking?
Yes, once the organisation opens an online payment account in its own name; we connect it to the donate page. Many organisations begin with UPI and bank transfer and add card payment later.
Should we publish our audited accounts?
That is the board's decision. CSR teams and larger donors usually ask for them, and a page with recent reports and accounts answers before they ask. Publish only what the board has approved.
How should photographs of children and beneficiaries be handled?
Only with recorded consent, from a guardian in the case of children. Where consent is missing, we use photographs of activities, places and hands at work instead of faces, and captions never carry personal details.
Can our volunteers post news and events themselves?
A simple login for news, events and the gallery can be included in the quote, so a volunteer can post after each camp. Otherwise send updates on WhatsApp and the scope is agreed there.
How long does it take, and what does it cost?
The site is live 8–10 days after all details — registration, programmes, photographs, reports, donation details — reach us. Pricing is quoted on WhatsApp after a short chat and moves with the page count, Hindi pages, online payment and any app.
