WEBSITES & CUSTOM APPS
Website development for dealers and distributors in Lucknow
A distributor's website in Lucknow has one job: let a retailer in any district see which brands you carry, confirm you cover their town, and send an order or a rate request without ringing three numbers.
We custom-code these sites — brand wall, category pages, coverage map, retailer onboarding form, WhatsApp-gated price list, Hindi version — and put them live 8–10 days after all your details reach us. There is no price list for web work; the quote comes on WhatsApp after a short requirement chat.
The city's distribution trade works out of Transport Nagar and Alambagh, the wholesale lanes of Aminabad, Chowk, Yahiyaganj and Naka Hindola, and the auto-parts stretch along Kanpur Road. Most of it still runs on phone calls and WhatsApp photos of handwritten orders. This page is about a website that feeds that WhatsApp instead of fighting it, and the apps that remove the re-typing.
Why a distributor needs a website when the trade runs on WhatsApp
Three kinds of people look up a distributor on Google. A retailer opening a counter in Barabanki or Sitapur types the brand name and "distributor Lucknow". A manufacturer looking for a stockist in Uttar Pradesh checks whether you exist, what else you carry and which districts you hold. And your own salesman, standing in a shop, wants a link to send instead of forwarding twenty catalogue photos again.
A website answers all three: the brands you represent, the product categories, the districts you serve, how a new retailer gets registered, and who to call in each territory. It does not replace WhatsApp. Every order and rate-request button opens WhatsApp with the shop name and the item already typed in, so the conversation starts with facts instead of "bhaiya, rate bhejiye".
Website development is a newer service line of our studio; the same desk has produced dealer diaries and shop calendars for distribution networks since 2022. Each site is hand-coded — no theme, no page-builder — so it loads on a 4G phone in a godown and the files stay yours. Five to six demo websites can be sent on WhatsApp.
Pages a dealer or distributor website needs
Six pages do most of the work. The quote depends on how many of these you want, how many brands and categories there are, and whether the Hindi version is built at the same time.
| Page | What it must do | Why it matters for a distributor |
|---|---|---|
| Brands and principals | A logo wall of every company you distribute, grouped by category, with the territories you hold for each | Retailers search for the brand first; a principal checking you out sees their brand presented properly |
| Product categories | One page per category — FMCG, agri-inputs, electricals, auto parts, pharma, building materials — with ranges, pack sizes and photos as supplied | The page Google lists for "[category] distributor Lucknow", and the link salesmen send instead of catalogue photos |
| Area and district coverage | A map plus a plain list of Lucknow localities and UP districts you deliver to, with delivery days if you publish them | A shopkeeper in Hardoi decides in ten seconds whether to call; a principal sees your reach without asking |
| Retailer onboarding | A form for shop name, owner, address, GST or licence number, categories of interest and a shop photo, landing on your office WhatsApp or email | New counters register themselves between salesman visits, and the office gets a complete record on day one |
| Price list and order request | Buttons that open WhatsApp with the retailer's details and item list pre-filled; the rate list goes out on request, never on the page | Rates stay away from competitors who read your site, while the back-and-forth before every order gets shorter |
| Contact by district | Salesman or area in-charge for each district, with godown, accounts and complaint numbers listed separately | Retailers reach the person who covers them, not the owner's personal phone; outstanding queries go to the right desk |
Manufacturers who sell through their own dealer network have a different page list — see the manufacturers page. Retailers themselves are covered on the shops and boutiques page.
Features distribution businesses in Lucknow ask for
Beyond the pages, these are the working parts that make the site useful to a retailer on a busy morning and to the office at month-end.
- Scheme and offer board
- A dated page the office updates through a simple login: slab schemes, free-goods offers, Diwali and season promotions. Retailers check it before ordering instead of asking each salesman what is running.
- Warehouse and logistics page
- Godown address with map pin, loading hours, which districts are served on which day, and the transporter details outstation retailers need for parcels.
- WhatsApp-first ordering
- An "order on WhatsApp" button beside every category and brand, pre-filling the item and a quantity field, routed to the office number you choose rather than the owner's phone.
- Hindi version, properly set
- District retailers read Hindi. Every page is built in Devanagari as well as English, with brand and product names written the way the trade says them, and indexed separately for Hindi searches.
- Principal and brand enquiry
- A page addressed to manufacturers looking for a distributor in Uttar Pradesh: territories you want to add, godown capacity, vehicles and team size, with a form that reaches you directly.
- Catalogue downloads and retailer login
- Brand catalogue PDFs retailers can download without logging in, and, if wanted, a light login where registered counters see their categories, the current scheme and a re-order form — a first step towards the order app below.
What to send us for a distributor website
The 8–10 day schedule starts when these are in hand, so collect them before the quote is accepted. We send a checklist on WhatsApp; this is what is on it.
- Your logo, and the official logo files of each brand you distribute — ask the principals' marketing teams, and confirm you may display them.
- The brand list grouped by category, with the territories you hold for each.
- Product categories with representative photographs, pack sizes and the range names your retailers use.
- The Lucknow localities and Uttar Pradesh districts you serve, and delivery days if you want them published.
- Onboarding fields your office needs — GST number, drug licence for pharma counters, food licence for food lines, bank details — only the ones that apply to your trade.
- Salesman names and numbers by district, plus the godown, accounts and complaint numbers, address, map pin and loading hours.
- The scheme format you circulate now, so the online board matches what retailers already recognise.
- Registered business name and GST number for the footer.
- Hindi text for each page, or a request for us to quote for preparing it. We lay out and typeset the text you supply; the design desk prepares banners and category graphics.
Where an app helps a distributor more than a website
The website brings retailers and principals to you. The daily grind — orders arriving as WhatsApp photos, the office re-typing them into billing, retailers ringing to ask what they owe, salesmen reporting visits from memory — is an app problem. Three apps come up repeatedly with distributors.
Dealer and retailer order app. Each registered counter logs in, sees its own categories and current scheme, taps quantities and submits. The office sees every order in one list, marks it packed and dispatched, and exports it in a format the billing software can take. Nothing is re-typed from a photograph.
Outstanding and ledger view. The same login shows the retailer their outstanding, last payments and credit days left, updated from your accounts export, so month-end collection calls are shorter because both sides see the same figure.
Salesman beat and visit app. The beat plan for each day, a check-in at each counter, the order taken on the spot, a shelf photograph where the principal asks for one, and an evening visit report to the owner.
These are built as web apps that open in any phone browser, or as mobile apps where that suits the field team. A screen-by-screen plan comes first, then your feedback, the build and a test with your real retailer list; the app is ready 15–20 days after we receive all your feedback. Details are on custom app development in Lucknow.
How the site is built, step by step
The same six steps the studio uses for print, adapted for a distribution business.
Requirement chat on WhatsApp or a call
How many brands and categories, which districts, whether retailers should order online or only enquire, whether Hindi is needed from day one. The demo links go out in this conversation.
Written quote and advance
The quote arrives on WhatsApp in working hours. A 50% advance confirms the slot; the balance is paid when the site goes live.
Details arrive
Brand logos, lists, district contacts, godown details and photographs, checked against the checklist. The 8–10 day clock starts when the list is complete.
Home page and brand wall preview
The home page and brand wall designed in your colours on a private link. One round of changes here sets the look for the remaining pages.
Full build and review
Category pages, coverage map, onboarding and order forms tested to your office WhatsApp, scheme board, downloads and the Hindi version. Two rounds of corrections are included.
Launch and hand-over
Live on your domain with SSL, Search Console and your Business Profile connected, hand-over notes, and a short video call so the office can update the scheme board and catalogues.
How retailers and principals search for distributors in Lucknow
The searches that reach a distributor's site are specific: a brand plus "distributor Lucknow" or "stockist Lucknow", a category plus a locality — "FMCG distributor Transport Nagar", "auto parts wholesaler Kanpur Road", "electrical wholesale Aminabad" — or, from the districts, the brand plus the retailer's own town. A good share is in Hindi: "लखनऊ में डिस्ट्रीब्यूटर", "थोक विक्रेता चौक", the brand name typed in Devanagari.
So the site names every district and locality you serve on real pages, carries the godown address and hours in structured data, and has a Hindi version indexed on its own. Your Google Business Profile should be set as a wholesaler or distribution service with the godown as the address and the website linked, so the map result and the site agree. Manufacturers searching "distributor required Uttar Pradesh" land on the principal-enquiry page.
We know the trade areas because we deliver to them: Alambagh and Transport Nagar, Chowk and Aminabad and the warehouses towards Chinhat are regular hand-delivery runs for calendars and diaries. A meeting at your godown is easy to arrange; distributors outside Lucknow are served over WhatsApp, calls and screen-share.
The same studio prints your dealer diaries and shop calendars
Most distributors meet us first through print: dealer diaries and trade gifts at New Year, product-per-month wall calendars for retailer counters, numbered order books through the year. The brand logos, colour values and category artwork prepared for those jobs are the same files used on the website, so a retailer who gets your calendar in December and searches your name in January sees one business. Letterheads and visiting cards for the sales team can carry the new web address in the same job; how we work describes the approval steps shared by both.
Questions distributors and dealers ask about a website
Should our price list be visible on the website?
Usually not. Rates differ by retailer and scheme, and competitors read public pages. The site shows categories and brands; a "request price list" button opens WhatsApp with the retailer's details, and the office sends the current list to that counter.
Can retailers place orders directly from the site?
Yes, in the simple form: the order button opens WhatsApp with items and quantities pre-filled, so the order arrives written rather than as a photograph. For orders that land in a list the office can process and export, the dealer order app is the right tool.
Do we really need a Hindi version?
For a network that reaches district retailers, yes. Shopkeepers in Hardoi or Raebareli search and read in Hindi, and a Hindi page is indexed for those searches. Principals and company contacts tend to use the English pages.
May we show the logos of the brands we distribute?
Show them with the principal's permission and use the logo files their marketing team provides. Most manufacturers welcome a correctly presented stockist page; some have rules about logo size and background, which we follow.
Can each district salesman have his own contact entry?
Yes. The contact page lists each district with the salesman's name and number, and the office, accounts and complaint numbers separately. Changing a number later is a small update you can make yourself or ask us to make.
How long does it take, and what does it cost?
The site is live 8–10 days after all details — brand logos, lists, contacts, photos — are received. There is no fixed price; the quote on WhatsApp depends on the number of brands and categories, the forms, the Hindi version and whether an app follows.
