WEBSITES & CUSTOM APPS
Website development for retail shops and boutiques in Lucknow
A shop's website should work like a well-arranged window that opens on a phone: categories, clear product photographs, the price or a "price on request" line, an "order this" button that opens WhatsApp with the item already named, and the map pin and timings.
We custom-code these catalogue sites for boutiques, jewellers, electronics, furniture, saree and sweet shops, and put them live 8–10 days after all your details arrive. There is no price list; the quote comes on WhatsApp.
Lucknow's retail sits in very different markets: the showrooms of Hazratganj, the packed lanes of Aminabad and Chowk, neighbourhood markets in Aliganj and Indira Nagar's Bhootnath, Patrakarpuram in Gomti Nagar and the long stretch of Alambagh. In each, customers check a shop on their phone before setting out; this page covers the site that turns that check into a visit or an order.
Why a shop that already has walk-ins needs a website
Many shoppers in Lucknow now decide before they leave home. A family planning wedding purchases looks up saree shops in Chowk; another buyer checks whether an Alambagh electronics shop is open on Sunday evening. The shops that show photographs, timings and a quick way to ask get the visit.
A catalogue site does this without changing how you sell. Customers open a category, pick a product and tap "order this" — the message reaches your counter phone with the product name and link inside it, so staff reply with availability instead of "which one, madam?".
Chemists are a special case: the site shows the shop, timings, delivery area and the wellness range, while prescription medicines are dispensed at the counter against a prescription, never ordered off a product page.
Websites are a newer line for a studio that has designed print for 2,500+ companies since 2022. Five to six demo sites can be sent on WhatsApp; every site is hand-coded, so pages stay quick even with hundreds of photographs.
Pages a shop or boutique website needs
Six pages carry a shop's site. The quote moves with the number of products, how many photographs are ready, and whether Hindi pages and a cart are built together.
| Page | What it must do | Why it matters for a shop |
|---|---|---|
| Home | Shop name, what you sell and which market you are in, a photograph of the counter or current collection, WhatsApp and call buttons on the first screen | Visitors arrive from a Maps listing or an Instagram bio and decide in seconds |
| Categories | One page per line — lehengas, chikan kurtas, silver, appliances, sofas, cakes, sweet and dry-fruit boxes — each a grid of product photographs | Google lists a category page for "silver jewellery Aminabad"; one long page of everything ranks for nothing |
| Product page | Photographs from two or three angles, material, size or weight, colours, the price or "price on request", and the order button | Customers forward product links to family before buying; the link must open cleanly |
| Festival collection | The season's stock — Diwali gifting, wedding wear, Eid, Raksha Bandhan hampers, summer cottons — with festival hours and an end date | Festive weeks make a shop's year; Instagram posts and WhatsApp status need a page to point to |
| Visit us | Map embed, landmark directions, parking note, timings with the weekly off and festival-day hours, every counter number | Old-city shops are hard to find; a landmark and a pin save the call that starts "where exactly are you?" |
| Delivery and returns | Localities you deliver to, any minimum order, payment methods, exchange and return rules in plain words | Answers what customers ask before ordering, and prevents disputes later |
Shops that also distribute a brand to other retailers have a different job online — see websites for dealers and distributors. What every site includes, from SSL to structured data, is on the website development overview.
Features that matter at a retail counter
These working parts decide whether the site brings orders or simply exists.
- "Order this" on WhatsApp
- A button on every product that opens WhatsApp with the product name, code and link typed in, reaching the counter phone rather than the owner's personal one; different categories can go to different staff.
- Price shown, or price on request
- Sweets, appliances and readymade garments can show the price; jewellery that follows the day's rate, bridal wear and made-to-measure furniture can say "price on request".
- Festival collection switch
- Collection pages prepared ahead and switched on when the season starts, with a home-page banner; hidden again when the festival ends.
- Timings and closure notices
- Opening hours, weekly off and a notice strip for market closures or late Diwali hours, so nobody crosses the city to a shut shutter.
- Delivery area note
- Localities you deliver to, written as customers say them — Jankipuram, Kapoorthala, Gomti Nagar Extension, Ashiana — with any minimum order.
- Optional cart and online payment
- For shops ready to pack and dispatch: a simple cart, address capture and online payment, each order copied to your WhatsApp. It can also be added later.
What to send us for a shop website
The 8–10 day count begins once these are with us; a checklist follows on WhatsApp.
- Logo, the shop name as written on your board, and the colours on your bags and bills.
- The category list, and under each one the products — name, code, material, sizes or weights, colours.
- Product photographs. Phone photographs work when taken in daylight against a plain background, one product per frame.
- Prices for items that will show one, and the categories that will say "price on request".
- The coming festival collection, with start and end dates.
- Address, landmark, map pin, timings, weekly off, and the counter numbers that should receive orders.
- Delivery localities, minimum order, payment methods and exchange rules, as you explain them at the counter.
- GST number, registered name, and your Business Profile and Instagram links.
- Hindi text, or a request for a quote to prepare it; the design desk makes banners and category tiles.
Where an app helps a shop
Behind the counter, most shops run on a register, a calculator and the owner's memory. Three small apps keep coming up with retailers.
Order and delivery tracker. Every WhatsApp or phone order lands in one list — customer, items, amount, paid or due, locality, who is delivering — and moves from received to packed to delivered. At closing the owner sees what is pending without ringing anyone.
Customer list for festive broadcasts. Names, numbers, locality, what they bought and when. Before Diwali the list is filtered — saree buyers in Indira Nagar, say — and exported for a WhatsApp broadcast, instead of messaging everyone about everything.
Stock register. Items in, items sold and what is running low, by category, size or colour. It replaces the notebook only one person can read.
Each is planned screen by screen and shown to you before building starts; once your feedback on the plan is complete, the app is ready in 15–20 days, tested on your own items, in any phone browser or as a mobile app. See custom app development in Lucknow.
From first chat to a live shop website
The same written, step-by-step approach described on how we work, fitted to a shop.
Tell us about the shop
On WhatsApp or a call: what you sell, roughly how many products, whether you deliver, and whether customers pay online or only enquire. We send demo links while we talk.
Quote, then advance
The written quote arrives on WhatsApp. Half in advance books the work; the other half is paid when the site goes live.
Photographs and lists arrive
Photographs, lists, prices, timings and delivery details come in and are ticked off the checklist; the 8–10 days are counted from the day nothing is missing.
First look on your own phone
The home page and one category page in the shop's colours on a private link; one round of changes fixes the look for the rest.
Every page built, two rounds of corrections
Categories, products, festival and visit-us pages, WhatsApp buttons tested to your counter phone, and the Hindi version if ordered. Two rounds of corrections are included.
Launch and hand-over
Live with SSL on a domain in your name, with Search Console and your Business Profile linked; a short video call shows staff how products and notices are updated.
How Lucknow shoppers search, and how the site meets them
Retail searches are short and local: "saree shop Chowk", "boutique Indira Nagar", "jewellers Aminabad", "sofa showroom Alambagh", "cake shop Patrakarpuram", and often just "near me". Many are typed or spoken in Hindi — "चिकन कुर्ता दुकान लखनऊ", "अमीनाबाद ज्वेलर्स". Google answers with the map pack first, and the shops in it are those whose Business Profile and website agree on name, address and category.
So the site names your market on real pages, carries address, hours and category in structured data, links both ways with your Business Profile, and has a Hindi version indexed on its own. Each category page targets its own search, and festival pages should go live a few weeks before the season, when the searches begin.
The studio delivers to these markets already: Hazratganj, Chowk and Aminabad, Aliganj, Indira Nagar and Alambagh are regular runs. A meeting at your shop, outside rush hours, is easy to arrange.
Bill books, bags and the website from one desk
The same studio prints what a shop uses daily: numbered bill books and estimate pads, visiting cards and letterheads from our stationery range, jute bags with the shop name, and calendars for regular customers at New Year. The logo, colours and lettering prepared for those jobs go straight onto the website, so the bill, the bag and the page a customer opens later all belong to one shop. Your next bill-book run can carry the web address and a QR code to the catalogue.
Questions shop owners ask about a website
Should we show prices on the website?
Show them where prices are fixed and you do not mind neighbours seeing them. For jewellery tied to the day's rate, bridal wear or made-to-order furniture, "price on request" with a WhatsApp button works better. It is set category by category.
Can customers pay online and get home delivery?
Yes, if you want it: a cart and online payment, with each order also sent to your WhatsApp. Many shops start with WhatsApp ordering and add payment once packing and delivery run smoothly.
We stock hundreds of items. Must all of them go online?
No. Start with the categories that sell most and the products customers ask about; more can be added after launch. A smaller catalogue with sharp pictures serves customers better than a large one with blurred ones.
Our product photographs are from a phone. Is that enough?
Usually, if they are shot in daylight against a plain background, one product per photograph. The design desk crops and compresses them for fast loading, and banners can be made from photographs of your shop.
Will a website help us appear on Google Maps?
The map listing comes from your Google Business Profile, not the site alone. At launch we connect the two, make name, address and category match, and put your market and categories on real pages, which supports both.
Can it be ready before Diwali or the wedding season?
The site is live 8–10 days after all your details — photographs, lists, prices, timings — reach us. Start collecting photographs early; the festival page is built with the rest and switched on when the season opens.
