Corporate gifts in Chinhat, Faizabad Road & Kamta
A calendar on a factory wall has to be readable from the end of a production line; a diary for a supervisor has to survive a shop floor.
That is the brief from Chinhat, Kamta and the Faizabad Road belt — industrial units and warehouses on one side, universities, institutes and hospitals on the other — where orders run from 200 to 3,000 pieces and go to a factory gate or a campus store. Our studio is in Vikas Nagar, about 12–15 km away; delivery is by our own team.
A plant manager and a university registrar on the same road have one thing in common: both are ordering for a large number of people who will use the piece every day, not admire it. The design job is legibility, durability and getting the quantities right.
Two belts along one road
Drive east on Faizabad Road and the character changes twice. First come the industrial areas of Chinhat and Kamta — manufacturing units, packaging and food-processing plants, auto-component workshops, cold stores and the warehouses that serve the city's distributors. Then, towards Matiyari, the campuses: a private university, engineering and management colleges, nursing and pharmacy institutes and the hospitals attached to them. The two belts buy differently, and we treat them as two kinds of client on one delivery route.
The industrial brief is about networks and the shop floor: a manufacturer gifts its dealers and distributors across Uttar Pradesh at Diwali and New Year, and gives its own supervisors, operators and contract staff a calendar and a diary. The institutional brief is about events and the academic year: induction kits for new students, conference bags for seminars, diaries for faculty at session start and at New Year, pens by the thousand. Hospitals on the belt behave like those elsewhere in Lucknow, gifting consultants and referring doctors; the hospitals page covers that pattern.
Products that work on the Faizabad Road belt
Arranged by product, because buyers here are deciding how a known item should be specified rather than what to give. Lot sizes are the usual range; the floors are 100 for diaries and table calendars and 1,000 for wall calendars.
| Product | Who uses it | What it carries | Usual lot |
|---|---|---|---|
| Wall calendar, 17×22 inch | Shop floors, dealer counters, godowns | Monthly safety message, shift and holiday marking, plant and dealer helplines | 1,000–3,000 |
| A5 diary, laminated or PU | Supervisors, shift in-charges, dealers | Production-log pages, contact sheet, company profile and product range | 200–800 |
| Conference or jute bag | Students at induction, delegates at seminars | Institute crest screen-printed, event name on a tag | 200–1,500 |
| Printed pen | Students, delegates, counter staff | Institute or plant name in one colour | 500–5,000 |
| Printed T-shirt or polo | Sports day, fest volunteers, plant safety week | Event name and crest, screen printed | 100–600 |
| Table calendar | Hospital counters, HOD desks, plant offices | Department contacts, academic or production calendar | 100–400 |
Wall calendars for the shop floor
A calendar beside a machine, in a packing hall or on a godown wall is read at a distance by people with ten seconds to spare. We design shop-floor calendars accordingly: a large, high-contrast date grid; Sundays and declared holidays marked unmistakably; weekly-off and shift patterns where the plant wants them; and the plant's own numbers — safety officer, first aid, maintenance, HR — printed large on every sheet. Many units use the upper half of each sheet for a safety or housekeeping message, one theme per month, so the calendar doubles as a notice.
The 1,000-piece minimum fits an industrial buyer because the same calendar goes to dealers and distributors as well as the plant: a manufacturer with 400 dealers and six godowns reaches it without trying, and the dealer version carries the product range and order helpline instead of the safety message. The format is on the wall calendar page; design ideas shows how a product-per-month theme is built.
Institutes on the belt: events through the year
Universities and colleges on Faizabad Road order against an events calendar rather than a single season. Four occasions generate most of the work.
- Induction and orientation, July–August
- A kit for every new student: a conference or jute bag with the crest, a printed pen, an A5 diary or planner with the academic calendar and campus map. Ordered in May–June from the admissions projection, with a second batch once numbers settle.
- Conferences and seminars
- Delegate bags, pens and a notebook or planner carrying the event name, in lots of 200 to 1,500. The institute's crest stays constant; the event artwork changes each time, so the template is reused across the year.
- Convocation and annual day
- Engraved pens or crystal paper weights for guests, medallists and faculty, boxed; printed T-shirts or polos for volunteers and the organising team.
- Faculty and staff, session start and New Year
- PU diaries with names for heads of department and senior faculty, laminated diaries for staff, table calendars for every office. The schools and colleges page sets out the academic-year rhythm in full.
Dealer gifting for a manufacturer, start to finish
Build the list by territory
Dealers, distributors, retailers and institutional customers, with addresses and the tier each deserves. The list decides the packing: one labelled carton per sales territory, ready for the field team or your transporter.
Decide the two versions
Most manufacturers run one artwork in two versions — a dealer calendar and diary with the product range and order helpline, and a plant version with the safety and shift information — produced in the same run.
Approve on a sample at the plant
Mockups usually within two working days of the brief; a physical sample of the calendar and the diary brought to the plant office so the marketing head and the plant head approve together. Production takes 5–10 working days after approval.
Deliver to the gate, dispatch by territory
The whole lot comes to your factory gate or godown, counted and signed for; territory cartons are dispatched onward by your transporter or by courier from our studio. The dealers and distributors page goes into the tiers.
A worked example: a manufacturing unit's year-end order
This is an illustrative brief, not a client case study. A packaging manufacturer in the Chinhat industrial area with about 350 people on site and a network of 500 dealers and distributors across Uttar Pradesh and Bihar wants to cover both the plant and the network. For the network: 1,600 wall calendars — three per dealer and the rest for distributors and institutional customers — with the product range month by month and the order helpline on every sheet, and 500 A5 PU diaries with the dealer's name foil-stamped. For the plant: 400 wall calendars with a safety message per month and the shift calendar, 60 laminated diaries with production-log pages for supervisors and shift in-charges, and 400 printed pens for the offices and the dispatch counter.
The brief, product photographs and dealer list arrive in the first week of October. Both calendar versions and both diary versions are shown on mockups usually within two working days; a sample of each calendar is brought to the plant office and approved after a change to the holiday list. Production runs 5–10 working days. The lot is delivered to the factory gate in mid-November, dealer cartons already packed by territory for the company's transporter, and the plant pieces go to HR for the handover.
Delivery to factory gates and campuses
Industrial deliveries go through a gate with a register and sometimes a material-inward procedure. We send the delivery person's name, vehicle number and a packing list in advance so the gate pass and inward entry are ready, and deliver to the godown or stores unless you ask otherwise. Campuses usually receive at a central store or the administrative block; induction kits can go course-wise to departments if the registrar's office prefers.
Chinhat and Kamta are 12–15 km from the studio along Faizabad Road, and we usually combine the industrial and institutional stops into one run, within our working hours of 10:00 to 18:30 on any day except Friday. Lots for dealers outside Lucknow can leave from your godown with your transporter or by courier from Vikas Nagar, with tracking shared on WhatsApp.
Around Chinhat and Faizabad Road
Faizabad Road runs back into the city through Indira Nagar and Munshipulia, where the schools and retail chains are, and the corporate towers of Gomti Nagar and Vibhuti Khand lie just south of it; the Shaheed Path ring connects to the new offices and societies of Sushant Golf City. Every locality we deliver to is on the Lucknow areas page, and dealers in Barabanki, Ayodhya and beyond are covered on the Uttar Pradesh page.
By sector, the two most useful pages for this belt are dealers and distributors for manufacturers and schools and colleges for the institutes; hospitals on the belt are covered on hospitals. The full range is on corporate gifts in Lucknow.
Questions factories and institutes in Chinhat ask
Can the wall calendar carry a different safety message every month?
Yes. The upper half of each sheet can carry a safety or housekeeping message, one theme per month, with the plant's emergency and maintenance numbers large on every sheet. A dealer version with the product range can be produced in the same run.
Can we mark our shift pattern and weekly-off days on the grid?
Yes. Shift patterns, weekly offs, declared holidays and plant shutdown days can be marked on the date grid alongside national and Uttar Pradesh holidays, in Hindi and English.
What is the minimum for induction kits with a bag, pen and planner?
100 kits, set by the diary or planner minimum. Bags and pens are quoted separately, so an institute can add a second batch once admission numbers settle.
Do you deliver to factory gates with a material-inward procedure?
Yes. We send the delivery person's details, vehicle number and a packing list in advance so the gate pass and inward entry are ready, and deliver to your stores or godown. Chinhat is about 12–15 km from our studio.
Can dealer calendars be packed by sales territory?
Yes. Send the dealer list with territories and quantities. Cartons are packed and labelled per territory with the count on the outside, so your transporter or field team can dispatch them from the godown without repacking.
How early should a manufacturer order calendars for a Diwali handover to dealers?
Send the brief in September and approve artwork by early October. Production takes 5–10 working days after approval, and territory packing and onward dispatch need another week before the Diwali week.
