DESIGNED AROUND YOUR BRAND
Corporate gifting guide: what to give, how to brand it, when to order
Corporate gifting works when the item is used daily, the branding suits the material, and the order is placed early enough for a sample. Match the item to the recipient (clients, employees, dealers, event guests), pick the logo method the material supports, and brief the supplier with quantity, budget per piece and delivery date.
What is corporate gifting?
Corporate gifting is the practice of giving branded or unbranded items to clients, employees, dealers, doctors or event guests to build relationships and keep a company in mind. In India it peaks around Diwali and the New Year, with a second wave around April when companies onboard new staff and hold annual dealer meets.
The best corporate gifts share three qualities: they are used every day (a diary, a pen, a bottle), they sit in view (a desk item, a calendar), and they are branded in a way that suits the material (debossing on leather, embroidery on a polo, engraving on metal).
How much do companies spend?
Budgets are usually set per recipient group rather than per item. A common structure is three tiers from one design: a premium set for directors and key clients, a mid-level item for managers and partners, and a mass item for dealers, staff or event guests. Keeping one artwork across all three tiers keeps the brand consistent and saves design time.

Logo methods compared
Each branding method suits certain materials. Choosing the wrong one is the most common reason a corporate gift looks cheap or wears off.
| Method | How it works | Best on | Strength | Limit |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Foil stamping | Heated die presses metallic or coloured foil into the surface. | Diary covers, boxes, leather, cards | Gold, silver or rose-gold shine; looks premium | One colour per foil; fine detail can fill in |
| Debossing (blind) | A die presses the logo into the material with no colour. | PU and genuine leather, hard covers | Quiet, expensive look; never fades | Needs a bold, simple logo; no colour |
| UV printing | Full-colour ink cured instantly by UV light on the product surface. | Diary covers, pens, acrylic, bottles | Any number of colours, gradients, photos | Slightly raised feel; less durable than engraving on metal |
| Screen printing | Ink pushed through a mesh screen, one screen per colour. | Bags, T-shirts, flat pen clips, covers | Bright, opaque, durable; cheapest per piece in bulk | Set-up per colour makes small runs costly |
| Pad printing | A silicone pad transfers ink onto curved or uneven surfaces. | Plastic pens, keychains, small desk items | Works on curved barrels; economical in bulk | Small print area; best with 1–2 colours |
| Laser engraving | A laser removes a thin layer to mark the logo permanently. | Metal pens, steel bottles, PU leather, wood | Permanent, precise, great for names | Single tone; result depends on the material |
| 3D crystal engraving | A laser marks tiny points inside a solid crystal block. | Crystal paper weights and awards | Floating 3D logo that cannot scratch off | Only for crystal/glass blocks; longer lead time |
| Embroidery | The logo is stitched into the fabric with thread. | Polo T-shirts, shirts, caps, laptop bags | Premium, survives many washes | Tiny text and gradients are not possible |
| DTF printing | Design printed on film, then heat-pressed onto fabric. | T-shirts, hoodies, canvas bags | Full colour and fine detail; no screen set-up | Slight film feel on large areas |
| Sublimation | Heat turns ink to gas that bonds into polyester or coated surfaces. | Coated mugs, polyester sportswear, mouse pads | Full-colour photo quality that will not peel | Only on white/light polyester or coated items |
| Doming / resin inlay | A printed label is covered with a clear, raised resin dome. | Paper weights, keychains, badges | Glossy 3D look, full colour | Adds cost per piece; not for curved surfaces |

How do you brief a supplier?
A complete brief gets an accurate quote in one round instead of five. Include:
- Product and quantity (and whether quantities differ by branch or tier)
- Budget per piece, or per recipient for a set
- Delivery address(es) and the date you need it by
- Logo as a vector file (AI, EPS, SVG or PDF) and your brand colours (Pantone or HEX)
- Any names or messages to personalise, in an Excel sheet
- Packing needs: per person, per branch, gift box, greeting card
What artwork files are needed?
Send the logo as a vector file — AI, EPS, SVG or a PDF exported from design software. A JPG or WhatsApp screenshot will usually need to be redrawn before it can be foil-stamped, engraved or screen printed.
Share brand colours as Pantone (PMS) codes where you have them. Screen printing and foil are matched to Pantone; UV and digital printing work from CMYK and will be close but not always exact.
Keep text in the logo above roughly 2 mm in height for pad printing and debossing — very fine lines fill in on small or soft surfaces.
Questions buyers ask
What is the best corporate gift in India?
For most companies, a diary and metal pen set in a gift box: it is used every working day, suits both clients and staff, and carries the logo without looking like an advertisement.
When should we order Diwali corporate gifts?
Four to six weeks before Diwali. For Diwali on 8 November 2026, that means confirming the order in late September or the first week of October.
What file format should our logo be in?
A vector file — AI, EPS, SVG or PDF. Vector artwork can be scaled for foil dies, engraving and screens without losing sharpness.
Which logo method lasts the longest?
Laser engraving on metal, 3D engraving inside crystal and debossing on leather are permanent. Embroidery lasts as long as the garment.
Should corporate gifts carry a big logo?
Usually not. A small, well-placed logo on a useful item is kept and used; a large logo often makes the item feel like an advertisement and it gets put away.
